Capturing Information & Data at Sea

Self-Powered Ocean Observation

Currently, ocean observation systems are constrained by access to limited amounts of power at sea. Sea Potential are developing a wave and solar powered buoy with a resident autonomous underwater vehicle that will significantly expand both the sensing capabilities available and extend mission durations.

This self-powered marine sensing system can operate autonomously for extended periods:

Cutting costs by minimising the need for interventions by expensive crewed vessels.

Offering additional power to expand the range and efficacy of the sensing systems that can be deployed for survey work.

Extending mission durations.

Acts as a recharging station for the resident Picsea autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).

System fully controllable from onshore control centre.

Sea Potential – UAV used with the self powered marie sensing system.

Applications include:

Survey work for offshore renewable site development.

Remote inspection of offshore underwater assets.

Extended data capture for oceanographic research.

Resident system for monitoring port and coastal activity.

Sea Potetial - remote inspection of offshore underwater assets.
